The human body requires a number of vitamins and minerals in order to function properly. Most of the time a person is able to maintain and use the optimal level of these nutrients through a balanced diet full of organic fruits & vegetables, good organic protein, and complex carbohydrates. The body’s cells take what they need from food, rebuild and repair themselves and allow an individual to live a healthy life.

Sometimes if a person is fighting off a sickness or has a chronic illness, their body becomes unable to absorb vitamins and minerals. When this happens, cells cannot work properly and they cannot contribute to the healing of the rest of the body. This can lead to chronic pain, gut issues, autoimmune disease, and many other unpleasant symptoms that can interfere with everyday life. In most cases, surgery isn’t going to fix these issues long term.

Fortunately, the body can heal itself and manage pain more effectively when specific nutrients and compounds are delivered directly into the bloodstream through Intravenous Therapy (IV Therapy). Using a small needle, IV Therapy bypasses the digestive system and allows nutrients to be absorbed quickly into the bloodstream.

Unlike oral dosing, IV Nutrient Therapy conveys nutrients directly into the body’s cells allowing the benefits to begin sooner. This method of dispensing can also be the solution for individuals experiencing digestive complications or who cannot tolerate oral treatments.

How Can I Benefit from IV Nutrient Therapy?

While there are many diseases and conditions that can benefit from IV Therapy, you don’t have to be sick to utilize it. This therapy can also be used to boost your immune system and for overall management of health and energy. IV Therapy is customized to each individual’s particular needs, so it can be well tolerated in persons of all ages and with various conditions.

IV Therapy can help you maintain better health and wellness. Benefits may include an increased appetite, higher energy levels and decreased effects of chronic illness.

Specifically, Vitamin C is used to help your body heal itself. We don’t make it naturally and we can’t get well without it. The dose size a person needs to get well is more than the digestive system can handle, so Vitamin C makes up most of the IV therapy cocktails we administer.

How Long Does Treatment Take?

Before beginning therapy, each patient undergoes a thorough wellness consultation to discuss your overall health. During this appointment, treatment time and options are discussed. In Functional Medicine, we believe in evaluating each person’s needs individually and developing a comprehensive, tailor-made plan for you.

Once you complete your consultation, you will undergo a physical and blood draw. These will help us determine which IV Therapy cocktail will be best for your needs. We mix the cocktails in our office and then get you set up for your infusion.

On average, each IV infusion takes 1.5 – 3 hours based on the type of infusion. Each individual’s wellness plan is unique and our staff will be able to determine the best course of treatment and how long it will last.

Are There Side Effects?

Our staff has training and experience in the administration of IV Therapy and most individuals tolerate the Therapy with a minimum number of side effects. The most common side effects are discomfort or bruising at the injection site. If you are put on a regimen of IV Therapy, we will discuss all possible side effects with you.
