What is WAVi?

WAVi is an all-in-one brain measurement platform which provides objective information about brain function. The WAVi system uses well-established evoked EEG technology to record electrical signatures of the brain, providing doctors, researchers, and wellness experts with actionable, data-driven reports.

As a noninvasive test, WAVi gives you the opportunity to take steps that may intercept cognitive conditions, such as Alzheimer’s disease and neurological conditions.

How does WAVi work?

An EEG records your brain waves through electrodes the team places around your head. Tracking these wave patterns allows WAVi to create a data-driven assessment of your brain performance. The platform also includes heart rate variability data (HRV), which helps evaluate your nervous system function.

To assess your visual attention and task transitioning abilities, WAVi uses a neurophysiological tool called a trail-making test. Auditory and visual evoked response potentials (ERPs) measure your cognitive function.

Each of WAVi’s features shares data with one another to create a personalized assessment of your brain health, so you can maximize your cognitive potential.

Why should I consider WAVi?

WAVi scans reveal critical information about your brain activity and may alert you to early signs of disease or cognitive decline. The Integrative Health Matters team may recommend a WAVi scan if you have:

  • A past traumatic brain injury (TBI)
  • A history of concussions
  • A family history of dementia
  • Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
  • Insomnia
  • Depression
  • Hypertension (high blood pressure)
  • A history of stroke
  • Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA)

A WAVi scan can also track your brain health if you play high-contact sports, such as football or soccer.

What can I expect from a WAVi scan?

WAVi scans are quick and painless. The WAVi headset uses a material similar to Crocs shoes to fit over your head comfortably. After measuring your head for the proper fit, the team adds EEG sensors that sit against your scalp to measure your brain’s electrical activity. The team issues special instructions to gather the proper information from your scan.

Once the test ends, the team uses WAVi’s data to create a personalized report of your brain function.
